Chancellor Bandalria delivers an inspirational message to participants of the PLDT Broadband Quiz Contest Grand Finals.

The PLDT Infoteach Outreach Program, a project that UP Open University (UPOU) has worked with for the last three years, recently concluded with the PLDT Broadband Quiz Contest Grand Finals. This was held on 27 May  2016 at the Event Center, Mega Mall, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.
Dr. Melinda dP. Bandalaria, Chancellor of UPOU, delivered an inspirational message during the event. Her message emphasized UPOU’S involvement in the program because of its belief that digital literacy is a basic skill that every Filipino should learn. Chancellor Bandalaria further related that “I can honestly say that Infoteach is not just a program, it is a compilation of various narratives of those individuals whose lives had been touched and transformed by the program.  It is a story of partnership of those who shared the same vision and advocacy for our country to be globally competitive.” As a parting word, Chancellor Bandalaria reminded the audience that “Change starts from within and we can be part of the change that we want for this country.”
Aimed at enabling the participants to acquire the digital skills for the 21st century teaching, learning, and working, the Infoteach Outreach Program is a partnership among UPOU, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), Department of Education (DepEd), Intel Philippines, Local Government Units and the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA).  The 3rd Phase of the Infoteach Outreach Program graduated 45 master trainers, 300 trainers, 12 co-trainers, 2,832teachers and 3,018 students who all came from public schools nationwide.
