Expert in Teaching Innovations to Speak at AAOU2016

Dr. Cher Ping Lim, Editor-in-Chief of The Internet and Higher Education and Professor of Curriculum and Innovations and Head of the Outcome Based Learning Unit at The Education University of Hong Kong, is one of the  speakers in the third plenary session of the 30th Annual Conference of the Association of Open Universities on 28 October 2016 at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City, Philippines.


Dr. Lim is known for leading large-scale research projects in Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong, engaging with major education stakeholders like UNESCO, Asia Development Bank, Microsoft, World Bank, Inter-America Development Bank and Sampoerna Foundation. His research interest spans on topics in ICT in education, games and learning, education innovation and its sustainability and scalability in education ecological systems, reflective practices among educators and policymakers, and empowerment of educators to transform existing practices and change conditions. He has also authored numerous articles and academic publications on these topics that were published internationally.


Along with Dr. Laura Czerniwiecz, Dr. Lim will be speaking on the topic “Digital Learning in Higher Education” at the AAOU2016. Other topics that will be tackled are best practices and developments in academic leadership in Open and Distance e-Learning (ODeL), open education, open educational resources (OER), massive open online courses (MOOCs), digital and new media literacies, assessment of learning in ODeL, learning spaces and technologies in ODeL, learning analytics and learner support in ODeL, and quality assurance in ODeL.
