UPOU Holds ePortfolio Training-Workshop

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Information Office, in cooperation with the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS) conducted a Training/Workshop on “Starting up your ePortfolio” on 15 June 2016 at the Audio Visual Room, UPOU Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna.

Asst. Prof. Al-Francis Librero, Director of the UPOU Information and Technology Development Office (ICTDO), Program Chair of the Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies (BAMS) and Faculty Member of the FICS, was the Resource Person. He defined ePortfolio as a digitized collection of artifacts. He shared his experiences in using the ePortfolio for his classes and how he engaged his students in developing their online portfolio. He also uses the ePortfolio for administrative assignments at the university, especially in archiving documents and learning ideas in his classes.

Dr. Melinda dP. Bandalaria, Chancellor of UPOU opened the seminar. She applauded the effort of the Information Office in sponsoring this seminar as the initial step for efficiency both at the personal level and institutional. She also mentioned the importance of having a personal portal to lodge and organize all official documents like memorandums, administrative orders and appointment papers.

Dr. Joane Serrano, Director of the UPOU Information Office shared the rationale of this seminar. She mentioned that this is part of the initiative of the Information Office to improve UPOU’s Branding.
