Dear Applicants:

In connection with your application to the UP Open University for the First Term AY 2015-2016, please log on to the Online Application System (OAS).

The OAS aims to  automate the application for admission process to a UPOU program.

In order to apply online, you may follow the steps below:

NOTE:

  • Before proceeding with the process, kindly read the admission requirements and qualifications of the program that you are applying for.
  • UPOU Online Application System (OAS) allows you to upload a copy of some application requirements, submission of the original copy of your credentials (e.g. Transcript of Records, Recommendation Letters, etc.) is still required.

 

CREATING LOG-IN ACCOUNT

STEP 1:          Go to http://our.upou.edu.ph/oas/  

                       alternate site  http://ovcaa.upou.edu.ph/our/oas/

STEP 2:          Create a new account (instructions are provided on the site).

STEP 3:          Check your email inbox for the confirmation of your new account.

    Check also your spam box in case the confirmatory email lands there by mistake.

NOTE:        

If you do not receive any confirmatory email within 24 hours, you may email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  for assistance.

Wait for 24 hours for the response to your email before sending a follow-up.

Remember to always check your spam box in case legitimate email gets routed there by your email server. 

 

FILLING OUT ONLINE APPLICATION

STEP 4:          Upon receipt of the confirmation by email, log in to http://our.upou.edu.ph/oas/ using your username and password and the activation code.

STEP 5:          Fill out the required fields in the online application, and submit.

STEP 6:          Monitor the progress of your application using the OAS.

Your application will only be reviewed and evaluated by the Program Admission Committee upon receipt of the OFFICIAL ORGINAL COPY of these documents.

What Documents to Submit for Graduate Programs

 

 

Step 1.   How to Apply?  Online Application

 

Step 2. Submission of Original Documents. See list below:

a.   Official Transcript of Records (1 original and 1 photocopy)

Notes:
i.    PhD applicants should submit an original and official TOR for both bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
ii.   The TOR should bear the school dry seal and imprint, and the Registrar’s signature in ink, and with acceptable remarks (please see Attachment A for the list of remarks in a TOR that will make it valid as a transfer credential)

 

b.   Two letters of recommendation from:

•    Employer/supervisor
•    Former professor
•    Former program adviser

Note: Use UPOU Form 1a for this purpose. The form is attached to the printed application form. Or you can download it from the UPOU website.

 

c.   Two identical 2” x 2” photos and two identical 1” x 1” photos, with your name and the program applied for printed at the back of the photos

 

d.   A 500-word essay (refer to item #29 of the application for admission form)

 

e.   Photocopy of any Government-issued ID

 

f.    Photocopy of NSO Authenticated Birth Certificate

 

g.   Photocopy of PRC license (not expired)/board exam rating (if applying for admission to the Master of Nursing program)

 

h.    Photocopy of PBET/LET eligibility (for teacher applicants only)

 

i.   Certificate of Teaching Load, UPOU Form 1b (for teacher applicants only)

 

Note: You can download the form (i.e. UPOU Form 1b) from the UPOU website.

Step 3. Pay the application fee of PhP500.00 for applicants living in the Philippines. See payment options and procedure for locally based applicants.

Pay the application fee of USD 100.00 for applicants living outside the Philippines. See payment options and procedure for offshore applicants.

 

Step 4. Submit application documents. Mail or bring your accomplished application form together with the other documents and proof of payment on or before the deadline to:

Step 5. Take the admission examination if you are applying to either the Master of Public Management (MPM) or PhD in Education program.  The Office of the University Registrar will contact you regarding the details of the examination.

 Note: Please expect receipt of the result of your application two weeks before the registration period of each term. If you do not receive your result by this time, contact the Admission Section of the Office of the University Registrar through email or phone.
 

What Documents to Submit for Undergraduate Programs

Step 1.   How to Apply?  Online Application

Step 2. Submission of Original Documents. See list below:

a.    High School Form 137 with school’s dry seal if you are a graduating high school student, or high school graduate applicant, or Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT)

 

OR An official and original Transcript of Records (TOR) indicating date cleared by the concerned UP Unit, if you are a former UP student

 

OR An official TOR from the last school/college/university attended, if you are a former college student of another higher education institution

 

Note: An official TOR should have valid remarks. Please see Attachment A for the list of remarks that will make a TOR valid as a transfer credential.

 

b.    Two identical 2” x 2” photos and two identical 1” x 1” photos, with your complete name and the program applied for printed at the back of the photos.

Note: These photos should be similar to the photo attached to your application form.

 

c.     Photocopy of any valid ID with photo

d.     Photocopy of Birth Certificate

 

Step 3. Pay the application fee of PhP350.00 for applicants living in the Philippines. See payment options and procedure for local applicants.

 

Pay the application fee of USD 75.00 for applicants living outside the Philippines. See payment options and procedure for offshore applicants.

 

Step 4. Submit directly to the Office of the University Registrar.

 

Mail or bring your accomplished application form together with the other documents and proof of payment on or before the deadline to:

Step 5. If applicable, take the undergraduate admission test. The OUR will send details of the examination together with the examination permit.
